The most difficult thing in this world is being a gay woman trapped in a homophobic world. See I envy those who can come out, and have that community and support that make you feel alright. But my plight is difficult, cuz everyday for me is a fight. With a homophobic mother, there is no support from home; homophobic legislature that could have me fired from my job; and God, oh God I can't even turn to you, cuz my church says you hate me and with my kind you are through.
For years I've…

I love the LNF show it opens so many doors for women like me who can't really identify with the Hetero community. Don't get me wrong i don't have anything against Heterosexuality people. I've lived that life and have two beautiful children because of it. But I wish as a child I had show's like your to watch. Maybe it wouldn't of took me so long to appreciate who i am as a lesbian women. I thank you the directer, the writers, the…

Now, i am usually a very quiet person when it comes to matters of race, but it gets on my last nerve, and it scares me. Its this kind of preconceived notion that gets alot of innocent people killed, and ruins lives.
Ignorant person:For those who have EARNED the reputation of belonging to…

Hello ladies I will be working on a personal project for the black lesbian community. I'll be hosting a big photo shoot soon, not sure on the detail but will keep you posted. But for now, I will be looking for volunteers. To give an example of what type of volunteers that I’m looking for, there’s a list at the bottom of this bulletin. Please keep in mind this is volunteer work, an opportunity to show case your talent for the local community to acknowledgement.
Make-up…

Now you know I was about to end this call… no way was I prepared for what she dropped next.
She says, I didn’t want no one else blood line growing through me. It had to be this way, Xiah. I wanted our blood to be one…
Nela’s last attempt to relieve me of the grief she knew she caused, irritated me to my core.
I have to go as I said…

Her name is Tracy. She is new to town; and is taking this job as a favour to her family. They want me a little closer to home, she said to me on a day of training. Where we’re you before this, I asked. Canada, she then replied, as my phone rang. Hold a sec’ I interrupted as my phone continued ringing. Looking at the unknown number I decided to answer it. Hello I said as a familiar voice spoke up. Xiah baby, please… don’t hang up! I said to Tracy ‘I need to take this’ she smiled at me, and…

For the past couple of years, I started noticing how many lesbians are obese or overweight---especially after they are in relationships for a number or years. What's up with that? I personally have gone through this myself gaining 30-40 lbs within my current relationship of 11 years. Three years ago, I got fed up and embarked on a quest to get fit. Since then I lost over 60lbs and my partner lost 25. We workout together and share a passion for healthy living which has made our bond…

Hi Hi all!!
I was introduced to LNF by a friend and i was totally myself as usual. This means i was skeptical of the show before I saw it, but open to viewing it to see where we are heading as a community these days. RIGHT RIGHT. I must say that I am somewhat mixed in my feelings on the show but that i will keep watching before i further that thought. I love that LnF is NOT THE L WORD, but i also am dissecting how I feel about all the characters, the portrayals, and how high my…

I must admit that every time I think of being myself i get scared. It's sad to say that at my age; but i guess you are never to old to learn, right? Getting to accept who you are is a challenge. So many people are involved that you don't want to hurt. But what about hurting yourself? Well i son't know about that. I have been in a relationship with a good man for 8…
